The inaugural Bahamas Yacht Charter Show is a non-profit event. We have partnered with Nassau – based charity Ranfurly Homes. All proceeds from the show, raised before, during and after, will be used to grow Ranfurly’s project The Step.
About Ranfurly Homes for Children
Established in the 1950s, the Ranfurly Home has grown to provide housing and childcare services to 45 displaced children in Nassau. The home serves children aged 7 to 18 who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. They have also opened their doors to children whom have been displaced due to Hurricane Dorian. Currently, Ranfurly is working to grow its transitional housing project, The Step, for young adults aged 18+ years old who need a steppingstone for their next chapter in life.
What Is The Step?
The Step expands Ranfurly’s assistance and support for young adults who have aged out of the foster care system. The Step, is primarily a transitional living community for young adults between 18-21, that will be constructed on Ranfurly’s 3-acre property in Nassau. It will include transitional housing units – or “PODS” – that are individual suite – type apartments.
Additionally, the young adults accepted into the program will also receive mentoring, job training and life-skills coaching. Ultimately, The Step’s mission is to provide a successful transition from foster care to independent living.
Bahamas Charter Show Goal
To raise $110,000, the cost of one housing unit, at The Step. This will allow Ranfurly to expand and serve more young adults who have aged out of foster or group home systems to avoid homelessness in Nassau.
All proceeds from the show will support this noble effort. See the fundraiser:
